The bees decided to fly to somewhere else last Thursday. My dad was on the back patio when he noticed a hubbub around the tree, there was a flurry of activity and then they were off. They spent almost three days in our backyard, and I learned so much about bees during their visit! So did Owen, who wanted us to read Busy Buzzy Bee to him over and over. Owen was a little sad that they left without saying goodbye (he was in preschool at the time) so Dzia Dzia took him around to the front garden to give our regular bee residents a goodbye message for the Queen.
It's been a really wonderful couple of weeks with Dzia Dzia and Grandma Fran's visit. Owen has had a blast! Of course, a visit with my dad is not complete without a game of Bingo... ( we are Polish, after all). It was Elliot's first Bingo game!!!!!
We also took the trolley to the ferry to the bus one beautiful afternoon... Elliot's first boat ride!
It's been really great, and we were all sad to see you go home, Dad! hopefully we'll be visiting with you again really soon. Thanks for entertaining the boys!

I'm so sorry, Owen, that those bees just up and flew off. Probably you and mom learned so much that you can come up and help Uncle Bill keep bees! Uncle Bill will teach you a lot more. They are surely marvelous little creatures that do a marvelous work for us! God's creation is so very miraculous!! When you hear Uncle Bill tell about them you'll understand even more how wonderful they are.
Owen, I think that one picture of you looks like you daddy so many years ago!
I'm glad Elliot is learning to play games so early in life. He must be pretty smart, too!!

So happy you could spend time with Paul, Lisel, Owen & Elliot, Richard & Fran. Sounds like you were able to create some good memories.
Sorry you didn't get to say good-by to the queen and all her worker bees, Owen. It was thoughtful of them to stopped by to say hello, though. Especially, since they are very busy making honey this time of year. They must have thought your yard was a nice place to stop and rest.
