Monday morning

After a busy weekend with errands, birthday parties, lunch meetings and more errands, this morning has been a much needed quiet clean-up and play time. One of the projects over the weekend was finding and installing this new bunk bed.

All morning Elliot has been playing in his room beautifully. First, sailing pirate ships on the ocean, then reading in the new nook, and playing Robin Hood from the top bunk while singing songs to his Merry Men and aiming his bow and arrow at hapless deer wandering into the room....

While he's been playing, so far I've thrown out a garbage bag full of junk, piled my Goodwill box high, and done three loads of laundry. Elliot just put on his pirate costume and is hunting for treasure around the house..... Now the top bunk is his pirate ship and he's piled toys and things up there to keep him busy. "Can you steer me to Treasure Island, Mommy" he calls out from the bedroom.

Aah. This is a very nice Monday morning.

Oh those are fabulous beds for the boys! And Elliot seems to love playing on the two levels of reality as well as in time and space! So cool! He plays so beautifully by himself, such a vivid imagination! And of course, you were busy too with all your sorting and throwing out. Nice to have a morning like that, eh?

Elliot's imagination is not only a constant streaming, but very entertaining even for us. You did a great job of relating the events of the morning! I can hear the sound effects coming from the sailing vessels, the songs to the Merry men, and the excitement of the treasure hunt. What a wonderland right in his own bedroom! I love it! GG

This is so cute! Elliot has a treasury of things all around him that can spur on things in his wonderful imagination! What fun for a mom to watch and get these snap shots for the rest of us to enjoy! Lisel you need to write a book! You are so good with words!
