An Obvious Metaphor

We stopped for a quick hike the other day.

Sometimes, we throw our rocks in the stream to hear the satisfying splash and watch the ripples spreading over the surface... and sometimes we carry our rocks carefully from the beginning of the trail to the bitter end.

Oh, the metaphors!

Lisel you are so brilliant at capturing all these lovely details of the say-to-day charm of your lives. This was just lovely! Thanks for sharing!

That was supposed to say "day-to-day" not say to day! Silly me!

Pretty sweet and so true! Sometimes we carry that heavy rock way too long. If we could only let God carry the rock for us until it is time to throw it in.

We have Erickson drain ditch behind our house that has brought the grand kids many wonderful hours--throwing rocks in and watching the ripples! Finding tadpoles, etc.!! It is a kids delight!
