1. First time for Owen in a long car ride ( over 5 hours). He did really well because I sat in the backseat with him the whole time and talked with him and played games with him. It probably would have been harder if he was back there all by himself... but we didn't have any problems this way...
2. First time for Owen seeing acrobats (we went to CIRCUS CIRCUS to see the free shows). Here's his look of stunned silence watching the contortionist amidst the craziness of the casino.

4. Owen winning a prize at one of the carnival style games at the Circus Circus family area (Owen named him Sprinkles the Dog):
Of course we saw the Bellagio fountains and the Mirage volcano and then Owen passed out inthe car ride back to Kristin's. The next day we went out to the Red Rocks and went on an incredible hike. Which leads to number 5:
5. Owen's first rock climbing and hike. We have only been on meandering hikes before, so I wasn't sure he would be into this. We were all prepared to turn back early and/or carry him the whole way. But he loved it and was determined to climb all by himself... The whole trip was about 3 miles with a lot of clambering on rocks. He hiked like a champ!
